Goosnargh Oliverson's Primary School

Goosnargh Oliverson's Church of England Primary School

Welcome

I warmly welcome you to Goosnargh Oliverson’s Church of England Primary School, where “Learning with Joy, Love and Laughter” is at the heart of all that we do.

We believe passionately in children having a wonderful childhood and an education that prepares them for their lives ahead. Through what we lovingly call ‘The G Factor’, children have access to a broad and balanced curriculum with high quality education in the National Curriculum alongside a whole host of wider opportunities.

We pride ourselves on providing creative, sporting, community and cultural opportunities, including first-class drama provision and the opportunity to visit another country, as well as a rich diet of extra -curricular activities.

Starting with the youngest children in Reception, and throughout school,  pupils are encouraged to develop highly positive attitudes to themselves and others.  The school's ethos ensure they feel valued and safe. Pupils are proud of their school, very eager to learn and show high levels of enthusiasm and responsibility.

(OFSTED 2019)

We have very close links with St Mary’s Church and our local community. As part of the Fellside ministry we also have close working relationships with our family of schools. Our Christian values permeate all areas of school life.

We know our children inside out, and we use this knowledge to motivate, encourage and care for them throughout their time at our school. We have a Learning Mentor who is there for our children’s emotional and academic well-being.

Pupil attainment is consistently high at the end of both Key Stages and children are tracked throughout their time at school, to maximise potential and eliminate any under-achievement.

A school that consists of great teachers who have the time for each pupil, knowing all their names – A family feel that focuses on the individual child not just on data.

High expectations but also develops happy and well balanced children.

(Parental Survey 2019)

Our school has a strong sense of family, due to our daily worship and the close relationships we have with our children’s parents. The Friends of Goosnargh School (FRoGS) organise many events throughout the year and raise a substantial amount of money for our school. We have an “open-door” policy and many parents help in school on a regular basis. All parents are welcome to share our weekly celebration assemblies on Friday afternoons and our half-termly Eucharist service in church. On a monthly basis, classes lead worship in church; parents are invited to these services, along with Christmas, Spring and Summer drama performances, sports days, musical soirees, parents’ and open evenings.

Most of our children who start school have attended the oustanding, onsite, governor led nursery, Ollie’s, which is situated on school grounds. They offer childcare from 2 years and also provide before and after school care for our pupils.

Opportunities are carefully selected to ensure there is systematic progress...as a result, pupils are caring and responsible. They are self-assured, principled, healthy and resilient. They are happy and enthusiastic learners. OFSTED 2019

Our aim is that they are prepared , not just academically, but morally, spiritually and physically and that they have enjoyed every minute of their primary schooling. When they leave, they go with our love and our blessings.

We are very proud of our school and our collective achievements and sincerely hope that your child will be very happy whilst in our care.
